Are you interested in giving back to the community and helping to change the life of a person living with a disability? Do you want to develop your professional skills before you begin your career?
Engineering Volunteers
Our student engingeering program operates in partnership with The University of Western Australia. Engineering students are encouraged to apply their theoretical knowledge in an innovative way to create equipment for the benefit of people with disabilities. Students are teamed with industry mentors as they take our projects from concept stage through to completion.
The students learn essential hands-on engineering skills together with skills in project management, budgeting, team building and communications. Our student program assists students to gain vital practical experience that can be applied in the workplace when they begin their professional careers.
Opportunities for students from other disciplines
We also offer work experience opportunities for students from other disciplines and educational institutions. There are opportunities in areas such as Occupational Therapy, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, and Business.
Give back to the community
As well as providing the students with professional development opportunities, our work experience programs give students the opportunity to give back to the community and people living with disabilities. The Foundation hopes that the experience fosters a sense of social responsibility in the students that they can take with them as they become our leaders and managers of the future.
