Quad Dreamers

Quad Riding for Children to Develop Ability

In 2007, Darren Lomman was approached by Peter Atkinson with an idea to start a quad bike riding club for children with disabilities.

Peter had been confronted with the dilemma of finding a safe place for his daughter, Jessica to safely ride her quad bike.  Jessica has intellectual disabilities and Peter had seen first-hand the many benefits Jessica was getting from being able to operate her quad bike independently.  Peter believed that the club would benefit other children with disabilities and their families.

The Quad Dreamers Club is now a reality through Dreamfit Foundation’s support and funding from the Office of Children and Youth, and the WA Department of Education and Training - Non Government Centre for Support. The club has also received generous support from the Wanneroo Junior Motocross Club, City of Wanneroo, and a number of sponsors and supporters. The club is a great success and currently provides quad riding opportunities for 22 children with intellectual and physical disabilities, aged between 5 and 16.
