Our Board

David Wall (Board Chair)

David is a partner at RSM Bird Cameron and works predominately in the risk advisory and audit areas. David makes available to Dreamfit his expertise in financial management, corporate governance and internal controls. David works primarily in the mining, health, energy and engineering industries in both the profit and not for profit sectors. David is a Chartered Accountant, Trustee of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

 

Julie Hill (Treasurer)

Julie has over 23 years’ experience as a finance professional with significant experience in the key roles of Company Secretary, Chief Financial Officer, Chartered Accountant and Non-Executive Director. Julie is presently the Company Secretary and Chief Financial Officer at Resource Mining Corporation Limited, which is listed on the ASX. Industries of experience include mineral exploration, rail, political advocacy, chartered accounting, local government and viticulture.

 

Professor Alan Robson AM

Alan is the esteemed Vice Chancellor at the University of Western Australia. Alan also brings extensive experience as a scientist, academic and organisational leader. Professor Robson has held many other distinguished positions, including Foundation Director of the Cooperative Research Centre for Legumes in Mediterranean Agriculture, Dean of UWA’s Faculty of Agriculture, Deputy Chair, Research Grants Committee of the Australian Research Council and member of the CSIRO Board. Alan is a Member of the Order of Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering.

 

Professor Brett Kirk

Brett is the Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research) at Curtin University and provides guidance on building partnerships between Dreamfit with the research community. As the former Head of Mechanical Engineering at UWA, Brett has also provided guidance regarding the many innovative engineering projects conducted at Dreamfit Foundation and was instrumental in engaging engineering students in the Foundation whilst developing unique access solutions for people with disabilities.

 

John Rukavina

John is the Group Corporate Affairs Manager for Calibre Global, a national engineering group. With a passion for delivering enduring value and sustainable change in local and regional communities, John brings extensive skills and experience in brand development, marketing and communications strategy, marketing management, external and internal relations, indigenous and community development. John is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

 

Darren Lomman (CEO)

Darren Lomman is the CEO of the Dreamfit Foundation. Darren is a mechanical engineer and a Churchill Fellow. For Darren’s role in establishing the Dreamfit Foundation at just 19 years of age and his ongoing commitment and passion for the engineering and disability sector, he has received numerous accolades including being named as the WA Young Australian of the Year, WA Citizen of the Year, Most Inspiring Young Engineer of the Year, Young Mechanical Engineer of the Year, and the National Disability Award winner.
