About Us

At the Dreamfit Foundation we are focused on giving people with disabilities the opportunity to take part in lifestyle and recreational activities that have previously been beyond their reach. Our student volunteers have engineered some amazing equipment giving people with disabilities the opportunities to live their dreams.

Can you imagine how empowering it is for a paraplegic to leave their wheelchair and go for a ride on our hand-controlled motorcycle?

"What an experience getting back on [a motorcycle], I thought I'll never get back on the bike and I finally made it … I think it’s the best thing ever, it’s wonderful that you're able to give the opportunity to people like me."

- John, the first person to ride Dreamfit's motorcycle

Or what it feels like to lose the ability to do an activity that you love, only to find that Dreamfit Foundation can give that opportunity back to you through their equipment innovations.

Justin is a former state water-ski champion who broke his neck in a water skiing accident when he was nineteen. Justin is now a partial quadriplegic but the Dreamfit wheelchair-accessible ski boat gave Justin the amazing opportunity to once again enjoy being out on the water. He rates the experience of skippering our Wild Dreams ski boat as one of the best days of his life.

These are just some of the life-changing experiences that we have been able to give people with disabilities through our equipment innovations and lifestyle programs.

Dreamfit Foundation is also committed to advancing engineering education in Western Australia. Our student training program operates in partnership with The University of Western Australia. Engineering students are encouraged to apply their theoretical knowledge in an innovative way to create equipment for the benefit of people with disabilities. Students are teamed with industry mentors as they take our projects from concept stage through to completion. The students learn essential workplace skills such as project management, budgeting, team building and communication skills. Our student program assists students to gain vital practical experience that can be applied in the workplace when they begin their professional careers.

We also welcome students from other disciplines and educational institutions to take up work experience opportunities with us. There are opportunities in areas such as Occupational Therapy, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, and Business.
